The number of cars in Kazakhstan for a year decreased by 0.6 percent and amounted to 3.8 million at the end of May 2018, Kazakh media reported.
The number of cars aged from 7 to 10 years decreased by 13.3 percent, to 290,000, and cars aged up to 3 years decreased by 12.8 percent, to 520,900.
On the other hand, the number of cars aged 3 to 7 years has increased by 12.2 percent, to 471,500.
There is an increase in the number of cars older than 10 years as well, by 4.1 percent, to 2.4 million.
By the end of May 2018, the former South Kazakhstan Region (now Turkestan Region and Shymkent City) was leading by the number of cars (482,000).
Cars older than 10 years comprised the majority in the region (69.4 percent).
