Tourism attractions in Iran's Fars Province continue to attract tourists from all over the world and remain the province's main source of income, said the governor of the province, Enayatollah Rahimi, Trend reports via IRNA.
Rahimi added that the province intends to develop tourism ties with several friendly countries.
"Tourists from Eastern Asia actively visit the province, and there's also possibility to develop tourism in terms of tourist inflow from Persian Gulf countries," he said.
"Negotiations to develop tourism activities with other countries is on the agenda, to find an alternatives for drop of tourist inflow from Europe," he said.
"Although we are in economic and political war but we have reached positive results with our efforts," he added.
"Chinese tourists are the top foreign visitors to Fars Province due to agreement between Iranian and Chinese government to lift visa requirements," he said.
Following the assassination of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani by the US, Iran's tourism has suffered a blow as well.
