Islamic Republic of Iran Railways (RAI) signed a memorandum of understanding with Iran Khodro Company on Feb.9 on the production and operation of rail buses in rural parts of the country, Trend reports citing IRNA.
"From now on Iran Khodro Company is going to transport its products and raw materials by train,” Head of RAI Saeed Rasouli said following the signing ceremony.
“According to MoU signed today, Khodro Company has agreed to transport raw materials to its factories by train. In turn, the Railway Company has committed to supply the necessary credit to build the infrastructure and transportation platforms,” said Rasouli.
"Based on this agreement, we will provide the land at the Iran Khodro destination stations and ensure transportation of their production by railway,” the official said.
“The document also envisages the work to design and produce rail buses to improve the level of services on the rail network, especially in the rural parts of the country,” he added.
