Iran shares non-oil export data from Kurdistan province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 5. Kurdistan province (western Iran) exported 401,000 tons of non-oil products for a total of 158,000 tons abroad in the four months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through July 21, 2024), controller of customs in Kurdistan province Faramarz Omidi told reporters, Trend reports.

According to him, during the specified period, 259,000 tons of products worth $118 million were exported through the Bashmagh customs, 128,000 tons worth $24 million through the Siraband customs, and 14,000 tons worth $16 million through the Sanandaj customs in the Kurdistan province.

Omidi said that over the four months, the province mainly exported tomatoes, watermelons, ice cream, apples, frozen chicken meat, dried milk, and other products.

The customs representative said that during the specified period, products were exported from the province to 18 countries, including Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Türkiye, Russia, and other countries.

Omidi pointed out that during this period, 63,000 tons of products worth $8 million were imported into Kurdistan province.

The imported products mainly consisted of gold bars, aluminum ingots, equipment and spare parts, as well as raw materials.

The products were mainly imported from Iraq, the UAE, Austria, China, Italy, Germany, and Türkiye.

To note, the Iranian Customs Administration statistics show that over the four months, Iran exported non-oil products worth $17.5 billion, which represents an eight percent increase compared to the same period of the previous Iranian year (from March 21 through July 22, 2023).

During this period, the import of Iranian non-oil products amounted to $18.5 billion. The import of products decreased by 6 percent compared to the same period of the previous Iranian year.
