BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 20. Urea (nitrogen fertilizers) output at the SOCAR Carbamide plant in Azerbaijan's Sumgayit from January through April 2024 amounted to 188,200 tons, which is 42 percent more than the same period in 2023, Trend reports.
The data from the State Statistics Committee showed that 26,000 tons of urea were stored in SOCAR Carbamide's warehouses as of May 1.
To note, this enterprise, which has been operating in the country for over five years, produced 454,000 tons of urea in 2023, 148,800 tons of which were purchased by EU countries.
Over the entire period of operation, the plant produced almost two million tons of nitrogen fertilizers (urea), of which over 1.5 million tons were exported.
