BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 14. More than 13.423 billion cubic meters of gas have been transported through the South Caucasus Pipeline (Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum) from January through July 2024, Trend reports.
According to data from the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, this signifies a 5.4 percent surge in gas supplies through the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline.
The pipeline accounted for 56.2 percent of the total gas transported through Azerbaijan's main pipelines.
During the same period, 23.869 billion cubic meters of gas were transported through Azerbaijan’s main pipelines, a 0.5 percent decrease compared to the same period last year.
The South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP), operational since late 2006, transports gas from the Shah Deniz field to Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye. Commercial deliveries from the expanded section of the pipeline to Türkiye began in June 2018, and to Europe in December 2020.
SCP Co's shareholders include: bp (operator - 29.99 percent), SGC (21.02 percent), LUKOIL (19.99 percent), TPAO (19.00 percent), and NICO (10.00 percent).
