BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 11. Azerbaijan's natural gas exports reached 22.9 billion cubic meters in the first 11 months of 2024, marking a 5% increase compared to the same period in 2023, Trend reports with reference to Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Energy.
Exports to Europe totaled 11.7 billion cubic meters, while Türkiye received 9 billion cubic meters, and Georgia imported 2.2 billion cubic meters. A notable 5.1 billion cubic meters of gas was transported to Türkiye via the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) during this period.
In total, Azerbaijan produced 45.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas between January and November 2024. Of this, 12.1 billion cubic meters were extracted from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) fields, 25.3 billion cubic meters from Shah Deniz, 1.4 billion cubic meters from the Absheron field, and 7 billion cubic meters from SOCAR’s operations. Gas production saw a 1.8 billion cubic meter increase compared to the same period last year.
Since the commencement of operations at the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli and Shah Deniz fields, Azerbaijan has produced a total of 648.4 million tons of oil (including condensate) and 462.8 billion cubic meters of gas as of December 1, 2024. This includes 600.1 million tons of oil and 228.5 billion cubic meters of gas from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields, and 48.3 million tons of condensate and 234.3 billion cubic meters of gas from the Shah Deniz fields. By December 1, 2024, 646.4 million tons of oil and 167.6 billion cubic meters of gas had been exported from these fields.
