Some 2,767,126 passenger cars owned by individuals were registered in Uzbekistan as of January 1, 2021, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
It is noted that 2,410,000 passenger cars owned by individuals were registered in Uzbekistan during the same reporting period in 2020.
According to the committee, the largest number of passenger cars in the structure of regions for the reported period accounts for Tashkent, amounting to 467,176 cars. It is followed by Samarkand and Fergana regions with a number of passenger cars reaching 323,586 and 276,558 cars, respectively.
At the same time, 262,741 cars owned by individuals Tashkent region, 223,733 cars in the Kashkadarya region, 192,944 cars in the Andijan region, 187,457 cars in the Khorezm region, 180,478 cars in the Bukhara region; 180,367 cars in the Namangan region, 150,574 cars in the Surkhandarya region, 113,140 cars in the Karakalpakstan Republic, 75,039 cars in Navoi region, 72,530 in Jizzakh region and 60,803 cars in Syrdarya region.
It is reported that the most common models of passenger cars owned by individuals in Uzbekistan are Nexia — 637,547, Damas — 429,404, Matiz — 288,685, Lacetti — 282,929, and Cobalt — 267,948.
Last year it was reported that over 3 million vehicles were registered in Uzbekistan, of which 89 percent were passenger cars.
