BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 31. Around 122,700 tourists from Kyrgyzstan visited Russia from January through June 2023, Trend reports.
According to the Russian Federal Service for State Statistics (Rosstat), this figure soared by 81 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
During the first half of 2023, foreign citizens made a total of 3.4 million tourist trips to Russia, a decrease of 6 percent compared to the corresponding period in the previous year. Among these, tourists from distant foreign countries made 1.1 million trips (32.7 percent of the total), while visitors from CIS member states made 2.3 million trips (67.3 percent of the total).
Additionally, 193,400 Russian tourists visited Kyrgyzstan from January through June 2023. The number of Russian tourists visiting Kyrgyzstan increased by 26.3 percent year-on-year.
Kyrgyzstan took the 10th position out of 22 countries in terms of the number of tourist trips made by Russian citizens. In total, Russians made 10.8 million international tourist trips in the first half of 2023, up by 36 percent year-on-year.
