Uzbekistan boosts number of passengers transported by air

The number of passengers transported by air in Uzbekistan from January through June 2021 increased by 70.9 percent compared to the same reporting period last year, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

According to the committee, the number of passengers transported by air in Uzbekistan during the reporting period amounted to 1,077,000 people.

At the same time, the volume of cargo shipped by air amounted to 2,800 tons, increasing by 17.2 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2020.

Earlier it was reported that starting from August 17, Uzbekistan Airways will resume regular flights on the Tashkent-London-Tashkent route. According to the airline, regular flights will be performed twice a week - on Tuesdays and Fridays.

In addition, the Ukrainian budget airline Bees Airline from August 30 will launch direct flights along Kyiv - Samarkand - Kyiv. According to Bees Airline, the flights will be performed on the Boeing 737-800. Airplanes will start to fly once a week - on Mondays.
