BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 19. The volume of industrial production in Uzbekistan from January through August 2022 amounted to 337.9 trillion soums ($31.2 billion), which is an increase of 25.3 percent compared to the same period of 2021 (269.8 trillion soums, or $24.9 billion), Trend reports referring to the Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
The volume of production of the mining industry for the corresponding period amounted to 33 trillion soums ($3 billion), which is an increase of 26.8 percent compared to the same period last year (26 trillion soums, or $2.4 billion).
During this period the volume of production in the manufacturing industry increased by 25.5 percent compared to the same period in 2021 (222.6 trillion soums, or $20.5 billion), reaching 279.5 trillion soums ($25.7 billion).
From January through August 2022 the volume of production in the field of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning reached 23.7 trillion soums ($2.2 billion).
