BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 3. A total of 633,000 tons of non-oil products worth $311 million were exported through the customs of Kurdistan Province, located in the west of Iran, during five months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through August 21, 2024), controller of customs in Iran's Kurdistan Province Faramarz Omidi told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, tomatoes, watermelons, ice cream, potatoes, chicken, light polyethylene, tractors, and many others were mainly exported through the province's customs.
Omidi noted that non-oil products were mainly exported through Kurdistan customs to Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Türkiye, and Russia.
The official added that 93,000 tons of products worth about $316 million were imported through Kurdistan customs during the five months.
He emphasized that gold bars, raw materials, production equipment, and other goods were mainly imported through province customs offices. The products were mainly imported from Iraq, UAE, Austria, China, and Türkiye.
Iran exported 60.5 million tons of non-oil products worth $21.9 billion during the five months. During the five months, exports of non-oil products increased by ten percent in value and seven percent in weight compared to the same period last year.
To note, Iran imported 15.7 million tons of non-oil products worth $26.3 billion over the five months. Iran's imports of non-oil products increased by 5.53 percent in value and 7.93 percent in weight during the five months compared to the same period last year.
