BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 27. The export of non-oil products through the customs of Iran's Markazil Province increased 37 percent in value and 23 percent in weight during eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 2024) compared to the same period of last year (from March 21 through November 21, 2023), the Director General of Markazi Province Customs Office Rouhollah Gholami told local media, Trend reports.
He claims that during the eight months, the Markazi Province's customs processed 1.52 million tons of non-oil products worth $1.03 billion.
Gholami reported that 88 countries, primarily Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Turkey, and the UAE, received the products.
The official reported that the province imported a total of 272,000 tons of products worth $754 million over the course of eight months. 47 countries, mainly the UAE, China, Hong Kong, Türkiye, and Qatar, contributed to the import of the products.
Meanwhile, Iran's exports of non-oil products amounted to about 104 million tons, worth about $38.2 billion, during eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 2024). Iran's exports of non-oil products increased by 18 percent in value and 14.6 percent in weight terms compared to the same period of last year (from March 21 through November 21, 2023).
To note, during the eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 2024), Iran's imports of non-oil products totaled 24.5 million tons valued at $45.1 billion. Iran's imports of non-oil products increased by 6.9 percent in value and decreased by 1.73 percent in weight during eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through November 21, 2023) compared to last year (from March 21 through November 21, 2023).
