BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 3. The production of Yadavaran field (Sindbad in Iraq), Iran's joint oil field with Iraq, is expected to grow by 42,000 barrels per day over the next 1.5 years, the executive director of Iranian Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC), Nasrullah Zarei, told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, the current production of the Yadavaran oil field is 114,000 barrels per day. He expects the field's production to increase to 156,000 barrels per day.
Zarei added that with the completion of the development of the Cheshmekhosh, Dalpari, and Paidare Sharg fields, daily production will increase from 75,000 barrels to 110,000 barrels.
The official noted that at the same time, by the end of this year (January 20, 2025), 10,000 barrels will be added to production at the Aban and Paidare Gharb fields.
To note, the Yadavaran oil field, strategically positioned 60 km southwest of Ahvaz in Khuzestan Province, along the Iran-Iraq border, boasts impressive oil reserves totaling 6.3 billion barrels. The potential to achieve an impressive output of 6.2 billion barrels is reportedly within reach. During the initial phase of the operation, 49 wells are generating an impressive output of over 110,000 barrels of oil per day.
