BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 13. The export of non-oil products through the customs of East Azerbaijan Province, located in northwestern Iran, increased by 35 percent in value and 42 percent in weight during eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 2024) compared to the same period of last year (from March 21 through November 21, 2023), Sadegh Namdar, controller of customs in Iran's East Azerbaijan Province, told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, 2.61 million tons of non-oil products worth about $1.32 billion were exported through the customs of Iran's East Azerbaijan Province during eight months.
Namdar noted that the main non-oil products exported included cast iron, iron, steel, petrochemicals, rubber products, mining minerals, fruits, and many others.
The official stated that the products were mainly exported to Türkiye, Iraq, Georgia, and Azerbaijan.
To note, Iran's non-oil exports amounted to about 104 million tons worth approximately $38.2 billion during the eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 20, 2024). Iran's non-oil exports increased by 18 percent in value and 14.6 percent in weight compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through November 21, 2023).
