BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 28. The export of non-oil products through the customs of Markazi province, located in central Iran, increased by 39 percent in value and 25 percent in weight during the nine months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through December 20, 2024) compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through December 21, 2023), Director General of Markazi Province Customs Office Rouhollah Gholami told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, 1.73 million tons of non-oil products worth $1.18 billion were exported via the customs of the Markazi province during the nine months.
Gholami pointed out that the products were mainly exported to Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Türkiye and the UAE through Markazi province customs.
The official added that polyethylene, aluminum ingots, rubber products, glass, ceramics, cement, detergents, and more were mainly exported via the provincial customs offices.
He emphasized that 294,000 tons of products worth $826 million were imported through Markazi provincial customs.
The customs officer stated that steel, aluminum ingots, antioxidants, raw materials and many others were mainly imported through provincial customs.
To note, more than 2,900 manufacturing enterprises are operating in the Markazi province of Iran. It is noted that 600 of these enterprises operate in the field of exports.
