BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 5. Non-oil product exports through the customs of Razavi Khorasan Province, in northeastern Iran, in the past Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through March 20, 2025) saw a significant increase, rising by 34 percent in value and 18 percent in weight compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024), Javad Jafari, the inspector of the customs, told reporters, Trend reports.
Jafari stated that non-oil exports amounted to approximately $2.25 billion and 3.46 million tons, with key products including agricultural goods, pistachios, saffron, polyethylene items, and metal products. Major export destinations were Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Iraq.
The customs official also mentioned that imports into the province grew by around 6 percent in value and 7 percent in weight compared to the previous year, reaching a total of $786 million and 321,000 tons. Notable imports included cotton, thread, mobile phones, gold bars, and rice, primarily from the UAE, China, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Türkiye.
