BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 24. Iran's imports of non-oil products from Kazakhstan in the past Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through March 20, 2025) amounted to $61.4 million in value, with a total weight of around 189,000 tons.
Data obtained by Trend from the Iranian Customs Administration indicates that this represents a 3 percent decrease in value but a 36.5 percent increase in weight compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024).
In the interim, Iran procured approximately $63.3 million in
non-hydrocarbon commodities from Kazakhstan, aggregating to a
substantial 139,000 metric tons during the preceding Iranian fiscal
year.
The data elucidates that Iran predominantly engages in the
importation of agrarian commodities, an array of machinery, and
additional merchandise from Kazakhstan.
Furthermore, it has been documented that the aggregate non-oil
trade volume between Iran and Kazakhstan attained approximately
$340 million, encompassing a total exchange of 648,000 metric tons.
In juxtaposition to the antecedent fiscal cycle, this delineates a
22.3 percent augmentation in valuation and an 8.6 percent
escalation in mass.
Furthermore, the Iranian Customs Authority disclosed that the
aggregate value of imports reached $72.3 billion, encompassing an
estimated total of 39.3 million metric tons. This denotes a 7.22
percent appreciation in valuation, notwithstanding a marginal
contraction of 1 percent in mass relative to the preceding fiscal
year.
Iran strategically prioritizes the acquisition of essential
commodities to fulfill domestic demand and has implemented targeted
regulatory frameworks governing the importation of goods that are
simultaneously manufactured within its borders.
