BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 22. Iran’s non-oil exports to Turkmenistan in the first month of the current Iranian year (from March 21 trough April 20, 2025) rose by 3.1 percent in value and 2.1 percent in weight compared to the same period last year (from March 20 trough April 19, 2024).
Data obtained by Trend from the Customs Administration indicates that in total, Iran exported 104,000 tons of non-oil goods to Turkmenistan, worth around $26.9 million.
The data also reveals that last year during the same period, Iran’s non-oil exports to Turkmenistan were valued at $26.1 million, consisting of nearly 102,000 tons.
Among the products exported were agricultural and food items, industrial products, transformers, air conditioners, and petrochemical products.
Furthermore, the trade turnover between Iran and Turkmenistan in non-oil goods amounted to around $27.4 million, with a total weight of approximately 105,000 tons. This marks a 3 percent increase in value and a 2.5 percent increase in weight compared to the same month last year.
For the first month of the year, Iran's total non-oil exports amounted to $2.94 billion, with a weight of 8.95 million tons. Despite the growth in exports to Turkmenistan, Iran’s overall non-oil exports saw a decrease of 8 percent in value and 8.3 percent in weight compared to the previous year.
Looking at the previous Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024), Iran’s non-oil exports to Turkmenistan totaled more than $445 million, with approximately 1.36 million tons, showing a decline of 3.12 percent in value but a growth of 6.47 percent in weight compared to the previous year.
