Cargo loading/unloading at ports of Iran’s Abadan County increases

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 6. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at the ports of Abadan County in Iran’s Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran), increased by 57percent in 6 months of the current Iranian year (March 20 through September 21, 2024) compared to the same period last year (March 21 - September 22, 2023), the head of Ports and Maritime Department in Abadan County Kambiz Malekizadeh said, Trend reports.

Malekizadeh noted that around 59,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at the 3 ports of Abadan County within 6 months.

He added that the main handled items were fish, commercial products, construction materials, animal feed, foodstuffs, equipment spare parts.

The official also said that the mentioned goods were exported and imported to the countries around the Persian Gulf, mainly the UAE and Kuwait and vice versa during the reporting period.

There are 3 ports operating in Abadan County of Iran - Arvandkenar, Chavibdeh and Abadan ports.
