The European Commissioner for Trade Karel De Gucht comes in Tbilisi on February 27-28 for the preparation of negotiations between Georgia and the EU on a comprehensive free trade.
The visit confirms the EU's readiness to deepen economic relations with Georgia and political relations with the countries of the Eastern Partnership, the Georgian Mission of the European Commission said.
The Georgian side considers this visit as a preparatory to the first round of talks between Georgia and the EU on free trade, which will be held from March 26 to March 30.
De Gucht will meet with Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri during the visit,.
