The European Union has condemns Russia's unilateral decision to veto the extension of the OSCE mandate in Georgia, reported Prime-News.
Nicolas Sarkozy, current President of the European Council, has expressed his concern that the members failed to reach consensus on the extension of mandate to the OSCE in Georgia.
The statement of the French President calls on the OSCE member states to continue discussions around the issue as the organization has a very significant role in the regions.
The document also says that the OSCE role is also emphasized in the Sarkozy-Medvedev ceasefire agreement signed on September 8, 2008.
