The meeting of Azerbaijani-Polish intergovernmental commission was held in Warsaw on September 11-12, 2006. According to Poland Embassy to Azerbaijan, a lot of issues concerning bilateral economic relations, as well as energy security were discussed during the meeting in Warsaw.
Proposals concerning cooperation in the sphere of energy, agriculture, tourism, transport, banking-financial sphere were put forward during the meeting. Excepting the meeting of the intergovernmental commission, representatives of different state offices of Azerbaijan who entered the Azerbaijani delegation to Poland held meetings with their Polish counterparts. On September 11, Poland`s Prime-Minister Yaroslav Katchinsky accepted the Azerbaijani delegation.
During the second day of the work of the intergovernmental commission, a press-conference concerning the results of meetings being taken place was held. After that, a seminar devoted Azerbaijani-polish relations started. Heydar Babayev, Azerbaijan`s Economic Development Minister, as well as other members of the commission delivered their speeches during the seminar. At the evening the Azerbaijani delegation was accepted by Poland`s Senate Chairman Bogdan Borusevich.
Petr Gzhegozh Voznyak, Polish Economy and Labour Minister headed the Polish commission, and Heydar Babayev, Azerbaijan`s Economic Development Minister was the Chairman from the Azerbaijani party.
