ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 5. Over 200 companies and joint ventures with French capital successfully operate in Kazakhstan today, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at a meeting with the President of France Emmanuel Macron, Trend reports.
Within the framework of his visit to the French Republic, the President of Kazakhstan held talks with the President of France in an extended format. The President thanked Emmanuel Macron for the warm reception of the Kazakh delegation. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that the arrangements and agreements reached during the visit of President Emmanuel Macron to Astana last year contributed to the qualitative deepening of Kazakh-French relations.
“France is one of the largest trading partners and leading investors in Kazakhstan's economy. We are grateful to the captains of French business for their commitment to doing business in Kazakhstan and fruitful cooperation. Kazakhstan and France closely cooperate in the international arena, together promoting the ideas of peace and sustainable development within the framework of multilateral platforms,” said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
In turn, the President of France noted the importance of the talks, which will give additional impetus to Kazakh-French cooperation.
“Thanks to you in recent years, the partnership between our countries has been significantly strengthened,” said Emmanuel Macron, addressing Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
During the talks, leaders thoroughly discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation in the fields of machine building, transportation and logistics, agriculture, energy, industrial cooperation, climate, digital development, and healthcare. Special attention was paid to strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties.
Within the framework of the state visit, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev arrived in the French Republic. At the airport in Paris, the President of Kazakhstan was met by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of France, Jean-Noel Barrot. Then at the Elysee Palace, an official ceremony of meeting of the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and President Emmanuel Macron took place, at the end of which the leaders of the two states went to the negotiating room.
