ASTANA, Kazakhstan, February 18. The Transneft company estimates a 30 percent reduction in oil pumping volumes from Kazakhstan through the CPC (Caspian Pipeline Consortium) after a drone attack, Trend reports.

According to Transneft, the restoration of the damaged oil pumping station of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) will take between one and two months, which could lead to a reduction in oil pumping volumes from Kazakhstan by about 30 percent.

To note, earlier, CPC reported that on the night of February 17, 2025, a civilian industrial facility of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium—the largest oil pumping station, Kropotkinskaya—was subjected to a mass attack by seven drone-type UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles), which, in addition to explosives, were filled with metal shrapnel.

"As a result of the attack, the facility sustained serious damage: the roof was destroyed, the closed distribution unit, gas turbine unit (GTU), cables and cable trays were damaged, a water tank was affected, two transformers were destroyed, filters and the GTU fire suppression system were damaged," Transneft clarifies.

Following the occurrence, the oil pumping station was promptly decommissioned for operational safety protocols.

CPC (Caspian Pipeline Consortium) is a major international crude oil transportation project with the participation of Russia, Kazakhstan, and leading international oil and gas companies.
