ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, June 27. The consolidated balance sheet of credit institutions in Turkmenistan as of June 1, 2025, reflects a relatively stable financial position with some shifts in asset and liability structures compared to the previous year, Trend reports.
Data obtained from the Central Bank of Turkmenistan shows that the total assets of credit institutions amounted to $44.29 billion, marking a slight decrease of 3.94 percent compared to June 1, 2024. Cash and cash equivalents increased by 9.9 percent to $211.90 million, while correspondent accounts with the Central Bank and reserve funds fell by 23.8 percent, standing at $5.03 billion.
Credit portfolios remained stable at approximately $35.31 billion, nearly matching last year’s level with a marginal growth of 0.22 percent. Fixed assets and investments decreased slightly by 3.56 percent to $476.65 million, and other assets declined by 9 percent to $3.26 billion.
On the liabilities side, net worth of the credit institutions grew by 4.24 percent, reaching $3.91 billion. However, attracted and borrowed funds declined by 11.14 percent to $30.32 billion. Mutual settlements with branches increased significantly by 24.93 percent, totaling $8.99 billion. Other liabilities showed a modest increase of 3.33 percent, amounting to $1.07 billion.
The overall total liabilities correspond to total assets, standing at $44.29 billion as of June 1, 2025.
These figures indicate cautious financial management amid evolving economic conditions, with credit institutions maintaining solid capital bases while adjusting their liabilities and asset compositions.
