Unstable weather conditions in Azerbaijan will not affect the yields in agriculture, Azerbaijani Agriculture Minister, Ismat Abbasov, said on Aug.12.
"I would not say that agricultural production will decrease, since the agrarian sector in Azerbaijan is provided with a continuous development," Abasov said.
However, the weather conditions were unstable and this impacted crop yields in some regions of the country in 2009, Abbasov added.
"By the end of this year overall [agricultural] growth is expected to increase by six per cent, roughly the same as in 2008," Abbasov added.
Growth in agricultural production hit 6.1 percent in 2008.
