Average monthly pension in Azerbaijan increases 13 percent

As of July 1, the number of pensioners totaled 1.28 million people in Azerbaijan, reported the State Statistics Committee.
Of the total number of pensioners, 64 percent accounts for pensioners for age, 26 percent - disability, 10 percent - for the loss of head of household.

The average monthly pension in Azerbaijan totaled 115.01 manat, which is 13 percent more than the first half of last year. This figure makes up 33 percent of the amount of the average monthly wage in the country.
During this period, social benefits were granted to 302,400 persons. Of these, 16,600 people got benefits for age, 100,300 - for the disability, 36,500 people - for the loss of head of household, 59,200 - children under 18 with disabilities.

57,100 persons, who do not have the legal right to receive the retirement pension, received benefits instead of benefits for utilities, transportation and other services.
Monthly allowances were received by 793 guardians of orphans and children deprived of parental care, as well as 10,800 families for 21,300 children. These benefits have been received by children in the families of martyrs, war invalids, invalids of the first and second groups as a result of the Chernobyl catastrophe and people undergoing compulsory military service.

Also compensation was given to 522 victims of the accident in production or occupational diseases.
In addition, the lump sum allowance was provided to 65,500 people, of whom 58,000 have received allowance in connection with childbirth, 5,100 - for the treatment of persons who became disabled as a result of radiation accidents, 1,400 - those who were released from the penitentiary service, as well as the benefits were granted for the funeral of 1,049 deceased persons.
In addition, in the first half year, the monthly stipend was received by 34,100 people who have special merits before the Republic of Azerbaijan.
As of July 1, 125,500 families or 563,500 people received targeted social aid in the country. Average monthly amount of the aid per person was 23.14 manat.
