Iran to increase alternative energy capacity till summer

Iran will increase alternative energy capacity up to 800 megawatts till this summer, Iran's deputy minister of energy and chairman of the Renewable Energy Organization Mohammad Sadiqzadeh said.

Sadiqzadeh made the remarks at the 6th Iran Wind Energy Conference held at the Ministry of Energy.

Presently, the renewable energy power stations generate 710 megawatts, Sadiqzadeh added, Trend reports referring to ISNA.

He added that the construction work at the power stations generating 60-70 megawatts of renewable energy is at the final stage.

A power station generating 300 megawatts of renewable energy is under construction and will be put into operation by the end of the year, he said.

He said that presently, the construction of a station generating 5,000 megawatts of renewable energy is on the agenda.
