The first phase of the largest export terminal of Iran`s agricultural products known as Romanak Gostar Pars Agricultural Products Export Logistics and Terminal Center was put into operation on Thursday morning.
Romanak Gostar Pars Agricultural Products Export Logistics and Terminal Center has begun its operation in a 31-hectare land in the city of Joybar, Mazandaran Province in 2018, Trend reports citing IRNA.
“Marketing, exporting, introducing Iranian brands in world markets, reforming the distribution system, and regulating the agricultural products market are among the primary goals of setting up an agricultural export terminal in this northern region of Iran,” the head of Romak Gostar Pars Khalil Gholizade said.
At the opening ceremony of the project, Gholizade said that the first phase of the construction of the export terminal with a capacity of more than 364,000 tons and the capabilities of sorting and packaging fruit, and freezing of protein materials with an investment of over $171 million, has been completed.
“It will directly create employment for 300 people, as soon as the terminal will be opened,” he said.
He went on to mention the capacities of the new Agricultural Products Export Logistics and Terminal Center.
“Total of 57 ammonia cold storage halls, daily freezing of 80 tons of agricultural products, production of 6,000 tons of carton boxes, annual packaging of 274,000 tons of various agricultural products and the ability to store 90,000 tons of vegetable are among the important capacities of this export terminal,” he said.
Referring to the joining of Islamic Republic of Iran to the Eurasian Union, he said that currently 37 percent of the world's agricultural products are exported to these countries.
Romanak Gostar Pars Agricultural Products Export Logistics and Terminal Center is the fourth agricultural product terminal in Mazandaran Province, IRNA reported.
