Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) and its affiliated companies carried out excavations at a depth of about 153,000 meters, during the first 9 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2021), an official of the IMIDRO Ahmad Fattahi said, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.
According to Fattahi, about 3.21 trillion rials (about $76.5 million) have been spent on excavations.
The official also added that over 9 months, 135 licenses were issued in the country for exploration operations in the area of 4,750 square kilometers, as well as, 16 licenses for excavations in 2,980 square kilometers.
“Currently, the IMIDRO is applying to industrial, mining and trade organizations in 31 provinces of Iran for issuance of licenses to conduct exploration operations in 25,700 square kilometers,” he said.
Fattahi noted that the Iran Minerals Production and Supply Company (IMPASCO), Iran Alumina Company and National Iranian Copper Industries Company (NICICO) are one of the main companies operating under the IMIDRO.
