New Managing Director of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) Alexander Tarakanov will lead the process on expansion of the pipeline, the company reported.
Alexander Tarakanov will assume his duties May 1, 2010. In this position Tarakanov replaced Vladimir Razdukhov.
Under the project, the pipeline's capacity will be increased from the current 30 million tons to 67 million tons per year.
In January-March 2010, Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) shareholders shipped about 8.53 million tons of CPC Blend oil via the South Ozereyka-2 terminal compared to over 8.76 million tons in the same period of 2009, the CPC press service said. The shareholders shipped over 2.83 million tons of oil in February compared to 3.04 million tons for the same period of 2009.
In 2009, Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) shareholders shipped about 34.6 million tons of CPC Blend oil via the South Ozereyka-2 terminal compared to over 31.5 million tons in 2008. The index was 32.6mln in 2007.
CPC shareholders are: Russia(represented by Transneft - 24 percent and the CTC Company -7 percent) - 31 percent; Kazakhstan (represented by KazMunaiGaz - 19 percent, and Kazakhstan Pipeline Ventures LLC - 1,75 percent) - 20.75 percent; Chevron Caspian Pipeline Consortium Company - 15 percent, LUKARCO BV - 12,5 percent, Mobil Caspian Pipeline Company - 7,5 percent, Rosneft-Shell Caspian Ventures Limited - 7.5 percent, BG Overseas Holding Limited - 2 percent, Eni International NA N.V. - 2 percent, and Oryx Caspian Pipeline LLC - 1.75 percent.
