Catalysts are strategic products that are under sanctions, and two types of catalysts for hydrocracking and hydrogen cleanup of oil residues will be produced in Iran with participation of a private company, said Jafar Tofighi, head of the Iranian Oil Industry Research Institute, Trend reports via ISNA.
He said catalysts for gas, petrochemical and oil refining industries are strategic elements.
An agreement to commercialize two types of catalysts was signed between the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) and a private sector company at the 23rd Iran International Oil, Gas Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition, he noted.
The private company is engaged in the production and commercialization of catalysts in Iran, he said.
