ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, June 12. Turkmenistan's total count of ATMs stood at 2,145 as of the beginning of June this year, showing no change from the prior month, Trend reports.
According to the Central Bank of Turkmenistan, the capital, Ashgabat city, boasts the highest ATM concentration with 452 machines, followed by the Mary region with 443 units and the Lebap region with 437 units.
Dayhanbank State Commercial Bank holds the highest number of ATMs at 1,022 units, followed by Turkmenistan State Commercial Bank with 441 units and Turkmenbashi Joint-Stock Commercial Bank with 356 units.
Meanwhile, over the past seven years, the number of ATMs in Turkmenistan has more than doubled. Starting with 924 ATMs on January 1, 2016, the count surged to 2,145 by January 1, 2024.
Turkmenistan has shown impressive growth in its financial sector, which is clearly reflected in different aspects of its economic system.
