BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 16. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) had a project loan portfolio valued at over 1 billion euro in Azerbaijan as of November 30, 2024, Trend reports.
The EBRD's portfolio is focused on 32 projects, a significant increase from the previous month’s portfolio of 871 million euro for 30 projects. The portfolio has grown by 18.25 percent, or 159 million euro.
"Approximately 92 percent of the portfolio, or 946 million euro, is aimed at sustainable infrastructure investments, 5 percent (50 million euro) in the corporate sector, and three percent (34 million euro) for financial institutions," the EBRD said in a statement.
In total, the EBRD has invested over 3.96 billion euro in Azerbaijan across 194 projects. The value of operational assets in Azerbaijan also grew by 0.3 percent, or two million, to reach 666 million euro as of October 31.
To note, the EBRD has been cooperating with Azerbaijan since 1992 and is the country's leading investor.
