BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 24. The German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK), in cooperation with Commit Project Partners GmbH, the Association of German Railway Industry, and AHK Azerbaijan, will organize an event on “Railway Construction, Railway Technology, and Railway Transport” in Baku in October, the statement of the German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce (AHK Azerbaijan) said, Trend reports.
“The event for German private sector companies and industry specialists in Azerbaijan will be held in Azerbaijan on October 21–25. The aim is to assist Azerbaijan in the modernization of the railway industry,” the information noted.
According to estimates from the German side, the following directions in the sphere of the railroad in Azerbaijan have high potential for companies from Germany:
- Digital technologies;
- Rolling stock (especially for trucks);
- Technologies and solutions for efficient data analysis and cost optimization;
- Training of Azerbaijani specialists in the railway sector;
- Railroad Facilities;
- Infrastructure solutions (signaling technology, train control systems, safety technologies for intercity and local transport).
“New equipment and infrastructure for freight railway transportation, especially for oil and gas transportation, are of particular importance for the railway sector in Azerbaijan now. Fundamental reconstruction and renewal of many tracks, systems, infrastructure components, and trains are required,” the information from AHK Azerbaijan emphasizes.
The German side expresses its satisfaction that the Azerbaijani government has set new targets for the expansion and modernization of railway transport and plans to implement them to a large extent by 2030.
“The five-day program of the introductory business trip of German companies to Azerbaijan will provide a real and comprehensive insight into the Azerbaijani railway technology market and applicable standards, trade operations, and Azerbaijan's development of international transport routes,” the statement of the Chamber of Commerce reads.
