ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 27. Kazakhstan has keen interest in projects related to agricultural product processing, particularly grain refinement and baby food production jointly with Italy, Trend reports.
According to the country's Ministry of Agriculture, this was stated by Minister of Agriculture Yerbol Karashukeyev during a meeting with his Italian counterpart Francesco Lollobrigida.
The minister also invited Italian companies to consider establishing joint Kazakhstan-Italy enterprises. Additionally, he extended an invitation to Lollobrigida to visit Kazakhstan to witness the country's vast agricultural potential firsthand.
Furthermore, it was noted that Italy holds vital role as a key political and trade partner for Kazakhstan. The country exports wheat, semolina, and vegetable products to Italy while importing chocolate, wine, coffee, and various sauces.
Kazakhstan's agricultural sector holds a significant place in the nation's economy, contributing not only to food security but also to social-political stability. Furthermore, the country ranks first globally for the lowest use of chemicals in crop production.
The trade turnover of agricultural products between the two nations reached $130 million in the first five months of 2023, reflecting a remarkable 51.5 percent growth compared to the same period last year.
