Kyrgyzstan boosts industrial production in 11M2024

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, December 9. Industrial production in Kyrgyzstan reached over 513 billion soms ($5.9 billion) from January through November 2024.

Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan shows that the figure rose by 4.8 percent compared to the same period in 2023.

The growth was driven by a rise in the output of refined petroleum products (up 1.8 times), wood and paper products, and printing activities (up 31.4 percent).

Additionally, the food and beverage sector, along with tobacco products, saw a 20.1 percent increase, while textile manufacturing and apparel production rose by 13.8 percent. Pharmaceutical products grew by 12.3 percent, and rubber, plastic products, and construction materials increased by 9.9 percent.

Moreover, positive trends were also observed in the construction sector, which saw a 32.6 percent increase; wholesale and retail trade, up by 18.5 percent; and agriculture, which grew by 6.2 percent.

Kyrgyzstan's GDP amounted to 1.225 trillion soms ($14.1 billion) in the period from January through November 2024. The growth rate for this period was 9 percent, compared to 4.4 percent in the same months of 2023. Excluding the operations of the Kumtor mine, the GDP stands at 1.159 trillion soms ($13.3 billion), with a growth rate of 10.3 percent.
