BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 8. President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Odile Renaud-Basso on November 7, Trend reports citing the Tajik president's press service.
During the meeting on the sidelines of the 27th session of Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, the both sides discussed priority areas for additional financing.
"It was deemed necessary to attract additional funds for the full implementation of projects to achieve one of Tajikistan's strategic goals, namely energy independence, as well as in the context of climate change - greater access to "green" energy and the formation of a "green" economy," the message says.
Furthermore, cooperation aimed to increase economic activity, the development of the financial market and the support of industrial entrepreneurship in Tajikistan, especially in the direction of the final processing of agricultural products, mining and other local raw materials were considered.
