DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, May 17. Construction has begun on the second phase of an armored vehicle and military equipment manufacturing plant operated by Sipar Group in the Ismat Sharif village community of Dangara district, Trend reports via the country's presidential administration.
The project, launched during a working visit by President Emomali Rahmon, is part of Tajikistan’s 2020–2025 Accelerated Industrialization Program and supports the country’s fourth national goal of boosting industrial capacity.
The installation will encompass 40 hectares and is anticipated
to partially satisfy domestic requisites for military apparatus via
indigenous manufacturing processes. The facility is poised to
generate 120 sustainable employment opportunities for the local
workforce.
During the site visit, corporate stakeholders were briefed on
strategic directives to amplify product throughput and diversify
the portfolio, enhance quality benchmarks, and allocate resources
for the upskilling of local technical talent.
According to the Statistical Agency of Tajikistan, the country's industrial production in the first quarter of 2025 totaled 13.846 billion somoni ($1.3 billion), reflecting a 23.4 percent increase in constant prices compared to the same period in 2024. In the reporting period, there were 3,780 industrial enterprises operating in the country.
