TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, April 27. The volume of agricultural production in Uzbekistan amounted to 42.3 trillion soums ($3.3 billion) from January through March 2024, Trend reports.
As per data from Uzbekistan’s Statistics Agency, this figure has increased by 12.2 percent year-on-year (37.7 trillion soums, or $2.9 billion in January-March 2023).
Crop production in the country reached 2.8 trillion soums ($220.9 million) from January through March 2024, while livestock production amounted to 39.4 trillion soums ($3.1 billion) during this period.
Among Uzbekistan’s regions the significant volumes of agricultural output were observed in Samarkand (5.5 trillion soums or $434 million), Tashkent (4.9 trillion soums or $386.7 million) and Bukhara (4 trillion soums or $315.6 million).
The lowest volume of production was registered in Syrdarya region (1.2 trillion soums or $94.7 million), Karakalpakstan (1.3 trillion soums or $102.5 million) and Navoi region (2.1 trillion soums or $165.7 million).
Meanwhile, the total volume of agricultural production in Uzbekistan reached 404.6 trillion soums ($31.9 billion) in 2023. The crop production in the country totaled 202.6 trillion soums ($15.98 billion), while livestock production reached 201.9 trillion soums ($15.93) in 2023.
