TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, June 22. Uzbekistan exported 722,100 tons of fruit and vegetables worth $420.1 million from January through May 2024, Trend reports.
The data from Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency shows that this figure has increased by 10.4 percent compared to the same period last year (653,800 tons in January–May 2023).
Russia accounted for the largest volume of horticultural product exports from Uzbekistan, with a total volume of 214,900 tons worth $137.4 million. Pakistan ranked second with 86,900 tons of exports worth $82.8 million, followed by Kazakhstan with 231,700 tons of horticultural products exported worth $64.4 million from January through May 2024.
The exports of horticultural products accounted for 3.9 percent of the total volume of Uzbekistan’s exports.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan exported 514,800 tons of fruit and vegetables worth $298.5 million from January through April 2024, which is more than 43.3 percent year-on-year (359,200 tons in January–April 2023).
The largest volume of horticultural product exports from Uzbekistan falls on Russia, with a total volume of 134,900 tons worth $78.6 million. Pakistan ranked second with 83,900 tons of exports worth $72.2 million, followed by Kazakhstan with 139,000 tons of horticultural products exported worth $38.8 million from January through April 2024.
