TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 11. A total of 53,303 flights were operated to/from the airports of Uzbekistan Airports JSC, Trend reports.
According to the data from Uzbekistan Airports, out of the total volume of operated flights, 16,319 were on domestic routes and 36,984 on international routes. This indicator has increased by 37 percent compared to the same period last year.
On top of that, Uzbekistan's airports provide 84 different routes for passenger flights. This number has gone up because new routes have been added and new air carriers have been attracted. There are 45 airlines that are now working with Uzbekistan Airports.
Meanwhile, the number of tourists from Uzbekistan travelling abroad amounted to 2.2 million from January through May 2024. This figure increased by 35.5 percent (569,200 people) compared to the same period last year.
At the same time, Uzbekistan welcomed 2.8 million tourists between January and May of 2024, an increase of 248,200 (or 9.6 percent) over the corresponding period in 2023.
