TASHKENT, Uzbeksitan, September 10. Road and railroad cargo transportation between Uzbekistan and Russia has grown by 35 percent by the end of 2023, Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade told Trend.

According to the ministry, the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov held a meeting with Minister of Economic Development of Russia Maxim Reshetnikov.

During the meeting, the parties discussed possibilities of accelerating bilateral trade and economic relations development, expanding the scope of investment and interregional cooperation.

The sides noted that the trade turnover volume between Uzbekistan and Russia grew by 29 percent in the first half of the year, mainly due to exports. Furthermore, more than 3,000 enterprises with Russian capital are operating in Uzbekistan at the moment.

In addition, the officials reviewed the progress in the implementation of the existing investment agreements and projects.

Both sides discussed the establishment of the Russian Foreign Trade Academy branch in Tashkent and to organize the work of the Expert Center for Strategic Initiatives.
