TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, November 26. Uzbekistan exported 325,100 tons of onion for a total of $63.2 million from January through October 2024.
Data obtained by Trend from Uzbekistan’s Statistics Agency shows that the recorded volume has increased by 24.9 percent compared to the same period last year (260,200 tons in January–October 2023).
In the latest figures, the volume of onion exports from Uzbekistan has significantly increased to 16,300 tons in October 2024, compared to 5,600 tons in September 2024.
In addition, Uzbekistan exported 1.6 million tons of fruit and vegetables worth $1.2 billion from January through October 2024. This figure has increased by 14.2 percent compared to the same period last year (1.4 million tons in January–October 2023).
Fruit and vegetable exports accounted for a significant portion of Uzbekistan's overall exports, representing 5.5 percent of the total.
