Iran attends Pakistan energy exhibition

Companies from Iran and 19 other countries are attending Pakistan's 10th International Exhibition for the Energy Industry in Karachi.

About 200 companies are showing products ranging from those for the energy and fuel sectors to power plants and petrochemicals.

The Iran Power Plant Projects Management Company (MAPNA) and Behran Oil Company are representing Iran at the exhibition for the first time. MAPNA announced its readiness to invest in power plants in Pakistan.

With a population of 185 million expected to reach 250 million in three decades, Pakistan has a shortage of 5000 megawatts of electricityper day.

The exhibition also includes sessions on Pakistan's energy situation, its problems and possible solutions like the use of new energies, gas and wind.

China, Germany, India, Italy, Qatar and the United States are among the attendees.
