BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 2. The processing of gas by Iran's Pardis Petrochemical Company increased by 7.08 percent in the last Iranian year (from September 23, 2023 through September 21, 2024), compared to the previous Iranian year (from September 23, 2022 through September 22, 2023), Executive Director of Iran’s Pardis Petrochemical Company Mohammad Reza Miri Lavasani said at the company's annual meeting, Trend reports.

According to him, Pardis Petrochemical Company's sales reached 3.2 million tons in the last Iranian year, surpassing the 2.99 million tons of production achieved in the previous fiscal year.

Miri Lavasani stated that one of the company's production challenges is the lack of storage space. Although plans were initially made to build a warehouse with a capacity of 30,000 tons to address this issue, it was later decided that several sulfur warehouses in the special zone would be vacated in the coming months. As a result, the company opted to lease these warehouses, a move that will cost €2 million instead of the initially planned €15 million, while increasing the company's storage capacity by 60,000 tons.

A company official also highlighted that in the last fiscal year, the company generated 11.3 trillion rials (approximately 24.3 million dollars) in revenue by saving 180 million cubic meters of natural gas. Additionally, the company earned an extra $40 million by converting surplus urea into ammonia.

To note, Iran's Pardis Petrochemical Company is located on 64.5 hectares of land in the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone (PSEEZ) in Bushehr Province. The company has 3 plants and can produce about 5.5 million tons of ammonia and urea per year.
