BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 19. Iran's fish product exports have increased by 17 percent in value and 29 percent in weight in the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through March 20, 2025) compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024).
Data obtained by Trend from Iran’s Customs Administration indicates that Iran exported fish products worth $372 million, totaling 196,000 tons during this period.
Iran's main fish exports included shrimp, tuna, and various types of carp, with these products accounting for 65 percent of the value and 64 percent of the weight of Iran’s total fish product exports.
Iran predominantly engaged in the exportation of aquaculture
commodities to key markets, including China, Iraq, and the UAE.
Furthermore, as delineated in a comprehensive analysis by the
Customs Administration, Iran's export portfolio comprised roughly
152 million metric tons of non-petroleum commodities, aggregating a
valuation of $57.8 billion during the preceding Iranian fiscal
year. Exports of non-petroleum commodities experienced a robust
15.6 percent uptick in valuation alongside a substantial 10 percent
escalation in mass relative to the preceding fiscal year.
