Export of goods is expected to decrease in Iran next Iranian year (to start on March 21, 2019), head of the Iran Export Confederation Mohammad Lahooti said.
It is difficult to predict the situation next year, Lahooti added, Trend reports referring to ILNA.
However, if there is no change until the end of this year, export of goods will decline in the coming year, he said.
Lahooti added that the return of the currency obtained as a result of export of goods and the inability of selling some foreign currencies via the NIMA system are the key issues.
If these issues are not solved, the export will decline rapidly, he added.
The volume of export increased by 15 percent during eight months of this Iranian year compared to the same period of last year, he said.
But during nine months, export increased by 3 percent. This is a thought-provoking issue, he said.
As for the export of Iranian goods, today the main problems are the registration of the order and the return of foreign currency to the country, he added.
According to the decision of the Central Bank of Iran, exporters should sell a certain percentage of the export earnings via the NIMA system. This caused dissatisfaction of exporters because a number of problems, including foreign currency value differs in the black market, as well as in NIMA and SANA systems.
NIMA system is a system for returning currency obtained as a result of export.
SANA system determines the currency exchange rates for Iranian Central Bank to buy or sell to other banks.
