Iran has started enriching uranium at the Natanz nuclear plant today, Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Director Ali Akbar Salehi was quoted as saying by the IRNA news agency.

"By changing the sequence and composition of the cascades of centrifuges 3, 5-percent enriched uranium will be loaded into centrifuges and enriched to 20 percent," he said.

According to Salehi, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors monitor all processes related to the activities of the country's nuclear power. The composition of the inspection varies every two weeks.

"We have sent two letters to the IAEA, notifying the start of uranium enrichment to 20 percent, and IAEA inspectors control this process," he said.

According to him, the process of uranium enriching does not mean that Iran has failed to cooperate.

"If the process of discussions will not be delayed, we are ready to cooperate," Salehi added.
